Chengdu Auto Show opens with about 1,600 vehicles from nearly 120 brands

The 29th Chengdu International Automobile Exhibition ran from 21 to 30 August at Western China Expo City. It was China's first A-level show of the second half of 2026, and one of the country's five A-level shows. BYD planned the global debut of its Da Han flagship sedan there, and all five Huawei-backed HIMA brands took part. Other planned debuts included the Exeed EX6 and the Freelander 8, the first production model of Chery's joint brand with Jaguar Land Rover.
