BYD opens its first 1,500 kW flash charging station in Germany

BYD's first commercial flash charging site in Germany went into service in May 2026, using second-generation hardware rated at up to 1,500 kW. The company aims for 6,000 such stations outside China, half of them in Europe; CarNewsChina gives the deadline as the end of 2026, while The Driven says the end of 2027. In China, BYD had more than 6,100 flash charging stations in over 300 cities by late May.
